English:
If compared to Chinese mega cities Taipei is not that huge. It is clean and green. As many of island cities the streets are all ups and down and the more you distance yourself from the centre of the city the steeper the roads become.
Being a city with multi ethnic history it does not have very peculiar historical sites, very interesting are all the different temples (by the way never saw so many Churches in my life as in here!!!) most of them Buddhist.
Worth to pay a visit is LONGMEN temple where Taiwanese are going to pay, burn incenses and offering delicacies, especially at the beginning of the New Year, to the Bodhisattva ( in sanskrit: Sattva; Existence, Bodhi: Enlightenment. Bodhisattva are those beings who concentrate their minds on Bodhi and they are trying to pursue Enlightenment) the Temple is dedicated to.
Wandering around Buddhist Temples always put me at peace. I do not know why, perhaps it is the incenses perfume, perhaps is the praying bells sound or it is the slow and whispered chanting of Mantra ( formula,, normally in sanskrit, chanted a determined number of times - like in Christian Catholic Religion the rosary). Or it could be the sparkling colours of Mandala (in sanskrit: Mandala: Circle. Diagrams formed by geometrical figures) or perhaps the combination of different Mudra (in sanskrit: Mudra: seal. Symbolic gesture used in different Religions in order to reach Physical, energy and/or spiritual benefits). Wait: it could be the soft lights and the sparkles of the golden sculptures.....anyway LONGMEN even if it was packed it is beautiful and it worth a visit.
Here in Taipei there are 2 interesting Museums: one called the National Museum of History, a medium-sized Museum, with anyway interesting pieces and the one that is mandatory to see is the Palace National Museum: the 5th Museum in the world and the manna for who, like me, studies Oriental Languages. IN 4 floors You can see jades, bronzes, curios, ceramic, documents and paintings from the Neolithic to the first Republic of China. The most interesting part, the one that is missing in the Museums of People's Republic of China, are the original documents I in P.R.C. they have been destroyed during the Cultural Revolution), the Annals for the Emperors rule the roost, but there are some Imperial Decree that show how imperial decision were transmitted to each Literati levels.
Allrighty, now stop boring you abt the Museum, but pls note it is really worth the visit!!!
The city is well connected through public transportation, they are clean, efficient and cheap. Abt food Taiwan is very well known for what Chinese call snacks (xiaochi, darn I still do not know how to write in Chinese with this PC!!) so different tastes and different pockets can find anything they want ( I recommend You a tour in the night markets here you can find typical taiwanese snacks to eat on-the -go) !

magari trovi un bel posto,
un piccolo pezzo di casa tua dove fermarti per sempre
o anche solo per un po',
per prendere fiato e riposare gli occhi affaticati dalle tante bellezze viste
un abbraccio Titta
