ATENE: L'Europa, Aude e la mutter/Athens: Europe, Aude and my Mum

Atene. Europa. Cibo. Sole. Rovine antiche. In pratica la perfezione. E' quasi una settimana che sono arrivata qui , ma le cose da fare e da vedere sono talmente tante che mi sembrava sacrilego fermarmi per scrivere un post. Ora sono in aeroporto, Aude e' partita e aspetto la Mutter che atterrerà' fra un'ora ca.

La Grecia. Che posto meraviglioso. A parte il cielo super blu, il clima perfetto ( sempre ventilato) la visione dell'Acropoli e' qualcosa di pazzesco…pensare che i gi antichi Greci siano vissuti qui, che abbiamo percorso le stesse vie che io e Aude abbiamo percorso leggendo ogni minima notizia storica o mitologia correlata. Penso di aver fatto milioni di foto. E poi incontrare Aude. Erano due anni che non ci vedevamo. Due anni che lei ha lasciato la Cina. E' stato bello e allo stesso tempo così' naturale. Ci siamo abbracciate e abbiamo cominciato a parlare come se i due anni non forssero mai trascorsi, beh ovvio abbiamo avuto tante cose da dirci, i ricordi di Gwen, la nostra vita in Cina, tutto quello che e' accaduto a Shanghai, tutto quello che lei ha vissuto in Francia. Pazzesco pensare che anche lei abbia lasciato il suo di lavoro, ma per intraprendere una vita diversa dalla mia: comperare casa, stare vicina alla sua famiglia, riposare. Deve essere una condizione dopo la Cina. Stanchi, svuotati, si ha bisogno di rincorrere i propri sogni.

Non saprei cosa dire di Atene, tutto mi sembra meraviglioso, l'ostello on cui siamo state (Zeus Hostel) perfetto: pulito, carino, centralissimo. 17 Euro spesi perfettamente. E' impossibile descrivere i Musei, o l'Acropoli, o il primo cimitero di Atene e poi san Giorgio, lo Pnix. Su e giù' per le colline ateniesi e poi il Pireo, il vecchio porticciolo. E che dire dei Greci? Popolo meraviglioso, educato ( per me dopo così' tanti anni e mesi in sud est asiatico BELLISSIMO). Ah aha h qui i ragazzi hanno la capacita' di flirtare pure con le pietre. Chapeau. Un viaggio, anche solo per un week end che consiglio a tutti. Non vedo l'ora che la mia mutter sia qui oggi pomeriggio, so che ci divertiremo un sacco e devo dire che non mi spiace per nulla rifare la visita dei musei e dell'Acropoli. Ora li vedrò' con occhi diversi, li vedrò' con una consapevolezza storica e mitologica più' fondata.

Ma la Grecia non e' solo antichità', non e' solo mitologia. E' anche cibo mediterraneo. Fino  ad ora non mi ero mai resa conto di quanto mi mancasse: olive, pomodori che sanno di pomodori, pane, olio extra vergine do oliva color giada, le spezie. Sapori forti, sapori di casa. E poi le fragole: qui hanno le fragole più' buone del mondo!!!!! E il gelato, si' quello vero ( magari non proprio come quello italiano, ma molto, molto buono). Ahhhhhhhhhh l'Europa. E' gia' bello sentirsi finalmente " a casa".

Athens. Europe. Food. Sun. Breeze. Ancient ruins. Pratically perfection. It has been almost a week that I am here but I never though of sit down and write a blog: I did not want to waste any time. There are so many things to see and do over here. Right now I am at the airport, Aude just left and MUm is flying  in in a hour or so.

Greece. A wonderful place. Besides the sky that is super blue, the climate is perfect ( always breezy), the vision of the Acropolis it is just astonishing…..thinking that ancient Greeks ( and Romans) had walk the same paths that Aude and me were walking it is just amazing. I think Aude and Me walk and read every single piece of historical and mythical news we could grab. I guess I took millions of pics! ANd then meeting Aude. It has been 2 years since she left China, 2 years since we saw each other. It has been great seeing her and have this feeling that time never passed, we hug and we start talking as we saw each other yesterday. Sure many things happened, lots to catch up on, Gwen's, our life in QIngdao, what happened to me in Shanghai, what happened to her in France. Amazing thinking that even her left her job even if she has decided to follow a complete different path from mine: buy a house, stay with her family. I guess China does that to You. After an experience over there You just need to think bat yourself and follow your heart and what it is most important. Try to follow Your dreams.

I do not even know where to start bat Athens, everything is perfect and marvelous, the Hostel we have been in (Zeus Hostel) it is clean, perfect, great location. !7 Euros well spent. It is impossible to describe Museums or the Acropolis, SAint George, the Pnix. Up and down Athens hills and than the Pireus, the old little harbor. And what bat Greeks? Amazing people, so nice and welcoming ( and for me after so many years in South East Asia so darn good looking!!!!) AH HA AH here the guys can flirt even with rocks. Chapeau.

I will recommend this trip even only for a week end to everybody. I am looking forward my mum to be here this afternoon, I am sure we will have a great time and I am even glad that I need to redone all the Museums and the Acropolis again. I will see them with other eyes, with more historical and mythical knowledge (darn it was difficult for me and Aude reconstruct the 12 main gods and their relationships!).

But Greece it is not only history and myth, it is also Mediterranean food. I had never realize till now I much I have been missing "our" food: olives, pita bread, feta cheese, tomatoes that actual taste of tomatoes, Extra virgin olive oil that has the same colour as the jade, the spices. Strong flavors, flavors of home. And the strawberries…they have the most amazing tasty strawberries I had in ages. And the ice cream ( probably not as good as the Italian one, but still very very close to it! Ahhhhhhhhhhh Europe. Oh yes, it is wonderful feeling finally at home!!!
